Depression

Depression is often the lowest common denominator of many very different experiences that it is important to take into account in order to conduct an effective therapy.  The existence of depressive symptoms, such as lack of motivation, difficulties in concentration, pessimism, sleep disturbances, irritability, suicidal thoughts, crying, loss of sex drive, lack of enthusiasm and pleasure, do not guarantee that "depression" will always be the most useful label for the patient from a therapeutic point of view.

Hence, beyond any psychological or biological depression diagnosis, I work with my patients on the specifics of how they interact with their environment and how this interaction generates suffering.  We then build together paths towards progressive change that enable them to experience new ways of relating to themselves, to others and to their environment.
