The Gregory Bateson Institute

Founded in 1987 by Jean-Jacques Wittezaele, the Gregory Bateson Institute (IGB) is an organization destined to spread, promote and develop an interactional and strategic perspective of human behavior among mental health professionnals and the general public.

IGB prolongs the innovative work of the Palo Alto school, elaborated by the Mental Research Institute (MRI), which it officially represents in French-speaking Europe. Our three consultation and training centers are based in Paris, Liège and Lausanne.

IGB trains every year over 500 professionals in France, Belgium and Switzerland in the use of the systemic and strategic approach. You will find a comprehensive description of our various training offers on the main IGB website.
